final #3

Jackson Mealman

Last year many students around ONW didn’t know about S.I.D or what S.I.D was.

This year the whole school knows what S.I.D is and what the class does.

Many students know what S.I.D is this year but in years past many students didn’t know what it was.

Connor Gerdes who is one of the original S.I.D students has learned many things about the class and filming.

“ S.I.D stands for sports information director” Connor Gerdes says.

S.I.D is one of the six strands in the e-communication department and is the only department that covers the schools sports.

“ It’s a class where we write about sports stories and then go a film the sports here we have at the school and then turn them into sports packages that feature on Game Day Northwest” Gerdes says.

S.I.D does a good job at covering all the sports in the school and not just the big ones.

“ S.I.D covers all Fall, Winter, and Spring sports which include football, basketball, baseball, and track and all the other sports at the school” Gerdes says.

S.I.D is the new strand of the e-communication department and isn’t very old. This is the second year of it and the students in the strand love it.

S.I.D has lots of fun parts about from filming and watching sports of the school.

“My favorite part is getting to work with sports and filming them. I’ve got to commentate games before and making videos about sports” Gerdes says.

Many of the people in S.I.D play sports but you don’t have to play sports to take this class you just have to have a passion for sports.

“ The people are cool, they are all my friends, we all have the same interest in sports, and we all get along really well”.

This year has been a good one for the S.I.D students and next year the students are looking to an even bigger challenge with there being more Game Day shows and many more broadcast going on.
